Knowledge Assistants
Answers from your own knowledge, with the source every time.
We build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) assistants that let your team and customers ask questions in plain language and get grounded answers from your documents and data, not the open internet.
What is a knowledge assistant?
A knowledge assistant is like a colleague who has read every policy, manual and past document you have. Ask it a question and it finds the relevant passages, writes a clear answer from them and shows you where each part came from.
This approach is called retrieval-augmented generation, or RAG. Because answers come from your own sources, they stay current when your documents change, and people can check them in one click.
What we build
Everything it takes to run in production.
Answers with citations
Every answer links to the passages it came from, so people can trust and check it.
Respects permissions
People only get answers from documents they're allowed to see.
All your sources
Shared drives, wikis, help centers, PDFs, tickets and databases in one place.
Stays up to date
New and changed documents are picked up automatically.
Where people already work
In Slack, Teams, your intranet, your website or your support tools.
Measured quality
Tested on real questions, with unanswered questions surfaced as content gaps.
How it works
Four steps, every time.
Connect
We connect your sources and keep them in sync, with permissions attached.
Retrieve
Each question finds the most relevant passages across everything you've connected.
Answer
The model writes a clear answer using only those passages, and cites them.
Improve
We track answer quality and fill the gaps people's questions reveal.

Questions
About knowledge assistants.
How is this different from ChatGPT?
General chat tools answer from what they learned on the internet. A knowledge assistant answers from your own documents and data, cites its sources and only shows each person what they're allowed to see.
Will it make things up?
It's built to answer only from the passages it finds, to cite them and to say when it doesn't know. We test it on real questions before launch and monitor answer quality after.
Which documents can it use?
Most common sources: Google Drive, SharePoint, Notion, Confluence, help centers, PDFs, ticketing systems and databases.
Is our information kept private?
Yes. Your documents stay in systems you control, access follows your existing permissions and we use model settings that keep your data out of training.
